SIZES

Vogmask is quantitatively fit tested in certified labs on sample test subjects to confirm particle filtering efficiency across a variety of motions. The filtering efficiency depends on a good seal around the nose and mouth. This is why Vogmask is offered in 5 sizes. Please contact if the mask you receive is not a good fit.

Size Small : Youth under 10 years old
Size Medium : 10 years to petite adult 5'3" (1.6m) and under
Size Medium+ : Small adult 5'4"-5'7" (1.63m - 1.7m)
Size Large : Majority of all adults, adults taller than 5'7" (>1.70m)
Size XL :  Very large adult or over 6'2" (>1.9m)

NOTES:  If you are large for your height, please choose next size up.

Head strap accessory snaps to ear loops and provides behind the head mask attachment and can improve fit.

Ear loops are measured in Quality Plan and Quality Inspection.  If ear loops are tugging ears forward, please gently stretch two or three times to loosen ear loop length.

BENEFIT OF WEARING A VOGMASK

Vogmask is designed as reusable highly efficient filtering face mask providing comfort with easy breathing, fit with good seal around nose and mouth, style with many designs, and efficiency with filter media to address microscopic particles.

Microfiber VMC, Organic VM, and valved VMCV all feature the Vogmask VM filter recipe sewn into the middle layer of the mask.

Currently, masks that will efficiently filter inflow and outflow of microscopic particles provide the most risk reduction. For this reason, non-valved masks are recommended when in proximity of other people, in order to protect the mask wearer AND others in the environment. 

Reusable masks also contribute to the protection of the planet of the future. 

VALVED VOGMASKS help protect the mask wearer only from inhalation of microscopic particles and feature two filter media sewn into the middle layers of the mask and 1 or 2 exhalation valves. Please note that the exhale of the mask wearer exits partially through the exhale valve unfiltered. Valved masks are suitable for biking, hiking, hazardous air quality, mold, dust, and environments for protection of the mask wearer who is not interacting with the public in close proximity.

MATERIAL COMPONENTS

The following components have been qualified for safety to use in the manufacture of Vogmask products:

Outer and inner layer is synthetic textile or organic cotton (if marked Organic)

Filter media is VM filter and in, models marked with a C [VMC]for Carbon, a coconut shell derived carbon ash bonded to textile is secondary filter layer for some odors and as a desiccant.

Trim and ear loops are 94% cotton and 6% latex-free spandex. 

All Vogmasks have a coated aluminum nose band in the trim of the top side of the mask.

All Vogmasks are LATEX-FREE.

All Vogmasks use the same highly efficient VM particle filter media (and carbon filter second layer when there is a C in the product name).

DIFFERENT TYPES OF VOGMASKS

Vogmasks are offered in Microfiber VMC and Organic VM. Both Product Families feature VM particle filtering media in the middle of the mask. In Microfiber VMC, the outer and inner layer are a synthetic textile, and there are two middle layers: VM particle filtering media and a Carbon filter. In Organic VM, there are three layers: the outer and inner layers are GOTS Certified Organic Cotton. The middle layer is VM highly efficient particle filter. Both Product Families provide equal protection from inflow and outflow of microscopic airborne contaminants.

Currently, face covering recommendations require masks that will efficiently filter inflow and outflow of microscopic particles.

For this reason, non-valved (not vented) masks are appropriate when in public places or in proximity of other people, in order to protect the mask wearer AND others in the environment.

NON-VALVED VOGMASKS with no exhalation vent help protect both the mask wearer from inhaling microscopic particles AND help protect others from the exhaled droplets of the mask wearer. Non-valved Vogmasks feature the same highly efficient particle filtering media sewn into the middle layer of the mask as the valved Vogmasks. Note that non-valved Vogmasks filter both inflow and outflow. Reusable masks also contribute to the protection of the planet of the future.

USEFUL LIFE AND REUSABILITY

Vogmask conforms to Reusable Status:

The particle (and carbon filter, if applicable) layers are sewn into the middle layers of the mask and are not replaceable.  

The VM filter media in Vogmask has an obsolescence date three years from manufacture. The recommended Use by Date is marked on the back of the packaging at top of diamond under the International Hourglass Symbol.

Once the middle layer particle filter is saturated with microscopic particles, there is a noticeable increase in breathing resistance and the mask should be replaced. Only in very poor quality or in proximity to wildfire or other natural disaster is this likely to occur in as little as three to five months.

If any part or assembly of the mask is damaged, or if a good seal is not achievable, discard the mask. Most Vogmask users replace the Vogmask at 3 months to one year of use.

MAINTENANCE and CLEANING

MAINTENANCE: 

The filter media is sewn into the middle layers of the mask and not replaceable.  Please follow these maintenance instructions.

 Daily Maintenance

You may use alcohol wipes >61% or alcohol spray on surfaces.

Expose to sunlight.

Hand washing:  Do not wash the mask frequently.  Excessive washing will eventually affect filtering efficiency.  Do not submerge the mask.  Hand wash by rinsing outer and inner layer with warm water. Add a drop of liquid soap and gently rub inner and outer layer. Rinse again and hang to fully dry before storage.

Wash the mask only to clean the outer and inner faceblanks.

Respirator users should wash their hands before putting on a respirator and after 
taking one off.

You will receive shipping confirmation email with tracking number. For US domestic orders, the free shipping method is USPS First Class Mail with estimated transit within USA 2-7 days. International orders are shipped by UPS International with estimated delivery 2-4 days for shipping charge US $25. A shipping confirmation email for all orders indicates Tracking Number. We are in process to offer Vogmasks in more international regions in early Q4 2020.

VM Filter Recipe and Carbon Filter

All Vogmasks, including non-valved, use the same highly efficient VM particle filter media (and carbon filter second layer when there is a C in the product name (VMC). Both the organic VM and microfiber VMC have the same VM highly efficient particle filter recipe sewn into the middle layer of the mask, and both products are equally efficient for filtering microscopic particles.  The microfiber also has a second layer of coconut shell derived carbon bonded to textile for the purpose for intercepting some odors, acting as a desiccant, and as it turns out provides additional structure to the masks.  The Viral Filtering Test under Technical is performed on the VM filter alone.
